Sodium Hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is a type of sodium metaphosphate polymer, a white crystalline powder with strong hygroscopicity. It absorbs moisture easily, becoming sticky, prone to air flow, and readily soluble in water. It has higher water solubility but slower dissolution rate, and its aqueous solution is acidic. It is prone to hydrolysis into phosphite and can form soluble complexes with some metal ions (calcium, magnesium), making it useful for water softening. Additionally, it has the ability to complex with lead and silver salts.
Usage Instructions: Follow the standards outlined in Circular 24/2019/TT-BYT and Circular 17/2023/TT-BYT.
